Exotic Dancers, Dating and Strip Clubs

If your partner went to a strip club would you mind?

That is the question at the Easy Find a Date blog and I'm wondering what other exotic dancers think of this.

No I Would Not Mind
  • As long as he takes me with him I do not mind. :)
  • If it is with a bachelor party or out with the guys once in a while it seems harmless.
  • One or tow dances can't hurt.
  • If he shows me how ultra excited he is when he gets home maybe I'll send him more often. :)
Yes I Would Mind
  • You spent how much?
  • You go how often?
  • Why do you keep bringing up Eternity and Mercedes like they were your good friends?
  • How come you don't come home until really late anymore and you don't seem to have an interest in me?
What do you think?

Would you date a stripper?

That is the question asked in the Plenty of Fish forums way back in 2005.

Check out the first couple of pages and you might be pleasantly surprised by some of the answers.

So I thought, what do people think four years later? Skip to page 25 through 33 and the answers are not surprising nor who the comments are coming from:

Some Responses to 'Erotic Entrepreneur' Article

Here is the article again:

Here are some responses I took from Craigslist:

San Francisco
"10 years of working in the strip club business, with my wife working alongside stripping for 4 years, and I can say from DIRECT EXPERIENCE that I’ve never heard a more slanted and wrong description of this business in my life!!!

This guy is expounding on incorrect impressions of what he "Thinks" goes on behind the 'stripper-pole-curtain.'
Want to know the truth Mr.Burns?
The only thing strip clubs sell is FRUSTRATION and it looks like you’ve got enough already.
Theres NO SEX in the Champagne Room!
You need a porno video arcade to take care of some of that pent-up frustration.
Theres NO SEX in the Champagne Room!
Now that’s the only sex being sold in an adult establishment-- one on one with yourself!
Theres NO SEX in the Champagne Room!

Theres NO SEX in the Champagne Room!"
Okay maybe not so eloquently put but he does have a point:
"If I wanna shove my paycheck up some girls ass I should have the right to do it.

I do not care for people trying to protect/deny people who want to piss their money away. While I openly admit to not being fiscally responsible in these establishments they are quite fun most of the time. So the next time some Rhonda Storm wanna be wants to do good, go track down those assholes running off with millions of dollars in retirement funds not some female makin a buck by rubbin her silicone in my face. Am I outta line?"
Responses from Tampa:
"You will never find a stripper that comes from a solid family, never. Does that tellyou something? They are uneducated....but allways play the "I'm going to college story" live in trailer parks and usually will have two or three kids from different fathers. And the fathers are either in jail or soon to be. They also dress their daughters in shirts that say "princess" or some other lame wallmart clothing. They also have lesbo qualitys too as they have been vamboozled by there father or boyfriend, and would much rather scissor with another women than enjoy the shaft of a mans love wand."
The response:
"Excuse me, but my daughter was a stripper and she did not come from trailer trash. Strippers are actually smart women who make a ton of $$$ off of stupid men who need to throw their money at these women cause they are just plain STUPID... or desperate. Who are you to judge these women? Yeah some of these women are desperate, on drugs, came from abusive homes, but still probably making more money than you.... Maybe you should try it...."
There were some other responses I left out that were rather crude and didn't contribute to making any sort of point. Anyhow, there you have it.

If you have something to say, say it! 2009 is the year to be bold!

'Erotic Entrepreneurs' Have No Place in Destin

'Erotic Entrepreneurs' Have No Place in Destin - Newsflash: Poedunk lawyer exposes stripping industry by-golly!

The term is "If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck it must be a duck."

How does one lawyer completely botch inductive reasoning in an attempt to be clever?

I smell an agenda.

Is it safe to call the author an ambulance chaser because he is a lawyer? Well don't call me a hooker because I work as an exotic dancer. That is not my sector pal.

How does one expect to help these soulless and lost women, some which are dancing their way through college, law or med school if you don't understand them?

This article is so full of contradictions and assumptions and not to mention backwards thinking. It makes me sad knowing this fellow is a part of the justice system. This has to be one of the most ignorant things I've ever read on the subject:
"The Destin City Council saw a rat scurrying its way into town and decided to trap it before it turned into an infestation."
  • Yet 7th and 8th graders are being raped by their teachers in public schools, mail order brides are totally legal and cyber-pimps blatantly selling sex on Craigslist will never be stopped. Okay.
"strip clubs offer a tempting eye-candy buffet for people to feed on while taking a break from the rat race of their regular daily routines. However, in actuality stripping is a “viral marketing campaign,” which can promote both prostitution and the trafficking of women."
  • Like a traffic ticket and stuff? I used to dance in Canada and have friends who have danced in Paris, Greece, Japan and other locales. Are we guilty of trafficking?
  • In defense of paying customers couldn't they also escape the rat race by spending time with their families or going skiing or something? How does the author jump from relaxation to being lured into human trafficking? I didn't break up that paragraph that is how it is written! Why not focus our attention on perpetrators who smuggle children over borders, and leave the lowly, exploited strippers alone? I will gladly rally funds to this issue of child trafficking, including non-custodial parents within the United States, if I saw it would actually go to the cause.

  • Money is given to police to enjoy lap dances and haul consenting adults off to jail costing more in tax money.
"in Europe brothels are referred to as..."
  • The article is about strip clubs not brothels. There is a difference I don't have a misconception about the industry but fer fucks sake. Most lawyers would be highly insulted if I assumed them a "public pretender" so perhaps we should do our best to find out the distinctions here.
"merely pull the wool over their own eyes in an attempt to label themselves as something less disgraceful."
  • There are real lawyers, and another crew of attorney's who are less disgraceful than blood sucking lawyers. Just like there are good cops and there are pigs. Yet all strippers are 'hookers'. There is no distinction or varying degrees of hookerdom just a slew of straight up prostitutes.

Just another pretentious, A-hole waving the flag known as the double standard.
"customers see these smiling women waving from the dance floor and assume the stripping lifestyle must be a free choice"
  • Last time I checked it was.
"This smile, however, is a form of Stockholm Syndrome..."
  • For most girls that is the satisfying smile of not being trapped into becoming a dental assistant.
I R IN UR LAW FIRMS SEDUZING UR TOURNEYS...
Okay that's enough before I get slapped with a violation of fair use. Now I see all it takes is to have an advanced degree to vomit up whatever you wish and you're considered an authority.

I've been a stripper longer than this lawyer has been lawyer'ing. Particularly I despise overly educated and small minded people telling me how to live my life. I didn't vote for Obama so stop trying to force this socialist crap into my G string.

Irrefutable Laws of Exotic Dancing

Exotic dancing is just that, exotic dancing.

Some rules are fun to break, but break these rules and you can create a lot of headache for yourself. One question I have for you: Why would you want to make more work for yourself? It defeats the credo of being a stripper!

Sometimes the money is just not worth it:

1. Never have sex for money - This is a no-brainer. Exotic dancing is exactly that: exotic dancing. People want to lump-sum all adult entertainment in one category: prostitution. Sure if it involves a humanoid and you exchange money for your services it is prostitution of some sort.

The point is exotic dancing is a game of seduction. Exotic dancers are not the whip-it-out-and-you-can-stick-it-in variety of prostitute. All a patron should be able to receive is some close contact and a visual and that is it. There is no orifice available for his patronage. If he wants to play with himself he can do that at home or where ever he does that sort of thing. Not on your time.

2. Never agree to have sex for money - For one thing you don't have to resort to such desperate tactics. The other reasons is that cops don't care if you were 'just kidding' or marketing yourself or whatever. Never, never, never...ever, ever, ever...ever, agree to have sex for money. Never elude to the fact (or fiction) either. Dancers have gone to jail for saying the wrong thing. Prostitutes know this too. Never agree to stupid shit, and make sure you say no a lot without really saying no. Know what I'm saying?

Don't agree to get a guy off either. You're there to make money not get guys off. Besides once that happens the money stops. Don't be stupid.

3. Never date your customers - Exotic dancing does not involve being an escort or dating service. If you date a customer because you two become boyfriend and girlfriend that is another story. You don't need to string along customers to have them spend money on you. In fact if you don't date them they are more likely to spend more money at the clubs. There is no point in keeping customer contact by seeing them outside the club. There are other ways to market yourself and keep them coming back without you having to see them outside the club. Paid or free. Just don't do it.

4. Don't date anyone at the club - It is actually safer to date a customer that you like and are going to date for real than to date an employee at the club. Yes it can happen, but rarely would it be a success story. Do you really need the drama? How many other dancers have they banged at the club? Are they going to make things difficult for you if you get into a spat or the two of you break up? Don't you think you can do better than to date a sleazy DJ, manager or bouncer? I mean after all you are a stripper, and more than likely can and will do better.

This goes for dating other girls too. I've seen so many fights by lesbian and bi couples in the club its just sad to see them fight at work. Date someone you don't work with!

5. Don't use, buy or sell drugs at the club - Some girls use liquor to 'let loose' and be more friendly with customers which is fine if you keep it to a minimum and don't use it as a crutch. I understand that drugs, drug dealers and pretty much any type of night club all go hand in hand. Think how much more money you could have made (or kept) by staying clean. As for myself I have never been high at the club because I am there to make money. I can do whatever I want outside of the club so save it for home or wherever.

6. Don't let others pimp you out - You are more likely to be pimped out by other girls than to have an actual pimp walk into the club and offer you some extended business. The worst I have seen are girls preying on new dancers and squeezing in on their action. I've seen strippers collect $40 for dances from a customer and tell her 'friend' that she hooked her up with some dances but they are only twenties.

Be aware, you don't have to be new to fall for this. Unless you have an agreement and she makes you money because she is good at hustling dances then go for it. Girls will hustle you and not even tell you. They are the ones to look out for.

Learn how to be your own pimp or as most girls would rather call it a manager it's the same thing. You make more money for yourself when you cut out the middle man. Be you're own damn boss. You worked hard for your money (not always the case) so keep as much of it as you can!

Do you have any more laws or rules of exotic dancing that you would like to add? If I like them I will add them to the post with a link to your site. :)

Exotic Dancing in a Down Economy - More From Ask a Stripper

Exotic dancing again truly is a recession proof business. One of the things that I have been telling my friends and not just those who are exotic dancers is that you need to get yourself up to speed at work. Two things are how to either a) get a job if you lose yours, or b) ramp yourself up so you don't lose what you've got!

Here are three ways exotic dancers can tackle the slow periods:

Don't Take it Personally - No matter how long you've been at exotic dancing there are those times that when money is limited you think it's all because of you. Sometimes it is you - so don't get me wrong. The times you should be worried if it is you or not is when it's the busy time of year and you are not doing so well. You can look great, do a great stage and still need an attitude adjustment. Consumer spending habits fluctuate throughout the year so know when those times are, and save up for them. It's not you most of the time, it really is the market. Wipe those tears away. :)

Stay Competitive - Walk into the club and look and act like a stripper! Just because it's slow doesn't mean you shouldn't be tanning, doing your hair, exercising or doing your nails. If it's that bad for you just use the cheaper alternatives (tan-in-a can, press on nails.) because some exotic dancers live like this year round. You may find that if you upkeep yourself you can truly say "I don't know what the fuck is wrong with these people because I look good!" There you have it.

Now is also the time to start a very intense workout program if you need to. Do it now! Not only will you stand out, if you have to go to another club they are more likely to hire you. In English, be in demand. If you want to keep or get a job even if you are not an exotic dancer you had better be the best you can be this year because that is who is going to get paid. Repeat, be in demand. As they say 'you snooze, you lose'.

Great Customer Service - Talking to some custys about business shit like I always do one complained that a client of his, for Christmas usually gives out Grey Goose and this year they all got bottles of wine instead. Another went to a party and the first drink was free but you had to pay a small fee for the 'bar apps'. Later that week at a different client party there was a full bar and free gourmet appetizers seafood included! Now which company do you want to do business with again?
The company that cuts corners or the one who is looking out for your happiness. (No not that type of happiness either.) Think about that for awhile.

You have got to give even better customer service in the slow times. Why not just get in the habit of being an awesome exotic dancer year round? Don't act desperate or be a total doormat. (Some customers try to "groom" exotic dancers. Don't let them!) If you're prices are too low people won't pay for an inferior product or service.

Throw in something extra (no not extras!) like taking more time to pay attention to your customer. Make them feel like a rock star when they come to the club, being a little more touchy-feely like a neck rub (if it's legal), requesting and or dancing to their favorite song etc. Send them an email, text or phone call to say 'thank you' without telling them what nights you work. The little things, they add up!

Student Auctions Off Virginity for Offers of More Than 3.5 million USD
Okay I put U.S. dollars because I'm not digging up a symbol for British currency.

Are you for or against women having the ability to pay off their student loans faster by offering money for sex?

What would the world be like if more women were legal prostitutes or had a higher level of education?

Stripper Hacks: About

Stripper Hacks started because as a woman raised in what is now one of the most wired cities in North America I was tired of the web sites and information I found about exotic dancing.

Stripper Hacks was born!

For Strippers by a Stripper
Craigslist and other forums were dominated by cyber-pimps and sleazy men looking to cheat women into having sex with them. I thought there are very few sites for FEMALES or 'independents' to talk about exotic dancing without a guy coming around to argue about how he knew more than we do when it comes to our business, our lifestyle, our world or even our own womanhood!

If you truly want to make the most of this site, be you an exotic dancer, a customer or just a curious onlooker: forget everything you know about the stripping world.

Competition is for people who don't know how to manage themselves. Being competitive is having the knowledge to know where and what to spend your time pursuing. It's that simple.

So have fun and thanks for checking out Stripper Hacks!

Exotic Dancing in a Down Economy

Exotic dancing is said to be a recession proof business since vices almost always sell no matter what.

Lately exotic dancers in Seattle strip clubs have been facing the opening of a new casino in North Bend. When the glitz of that place wears off people will be hitting up the clubs more frequently again.
"Recession my ass! We were just at the casino and it was packed and so is this place!" -- Customer quote January 2009
What are some of the things that we exotic dancers can do to keep our heads above water in a down economy? Here are three ways to look at the situation:
  • Ignore the Nay-Sayers - Don't let them bring you down. Most of the nay-sayers are unhappy to either be paying for twat because they can't afford it or broke ass bitches who have trouble selling it. Sex will always sell. The prices may fluctuate but it will always sell.
  • Good Customer Service - Be nice to everyone because they are potential spenders. Not only that even if they don't buy any dances they will talk to there friends about your club = more potential spenders. Don't be a doormat with prices but try and laugh some things off so you don't come across as rude. Customers can be vindictive and not go to a club out of spite even though they are dying to return. On principal they won't come back and they will just bad mouth the place. Make everyone feel welcome this is no time to be flippant.
  • Keep Up on Bills/Cut Expenses - Notice that I didn't say 'start saving money' since most people are eluded by the concept. What I will say is this, the less bills you have to pay the less you have to worry about, and the more money you can make. Survival mode is not pretty on women so don't let yourself get to that point. In order of importance your bills are Rent, electricity and car insurance. If you must have a cell phone drop to the lowest plan or get a pre-paid. If you like computers start using Wi-fi cafes or libraries until you make more money for Internet service. Learn to cook! You get the idea. Sometimes McDonalds is a better choice and thank heavens in Seattle we have Dick's!
Be one of the exotic dancers in the know. Demand to yourself that you make more money and keep as much of it as you can. Cut your costs and live as cheaply as you can. Most women really do dream of being like exotic dancers but don't have what it takes. Consider yourself lucky as exotic dancers only have so many years to do this and make money make it count!

Stripper Hacks
  • In the slow months, especially in a tight economy, your dance prices should be higher (if your club allows flexible pricing) since customers spend less frequently on things like exotic dancing. In the spring and summer months your prices should be more flexible as lust and tax time are in the air and you can drop your prices a little as demand will be higher.
  • Treat your regulars like gold. Instead of lowering the prices try throwing in an extra dance or two at a discount. Price high and justify. In the world of exotic dancing people will pay out the nose for you to have the upper hand. Don't let anyone tell you differently.
  • If you owe the club money (this is good advice if you pay child support) make sure you pay a little bit each shift even if it is only $10! Club managers and owners have no emotional attachment to you or your personal welfare when it comes to business. They will take all your money, and leave you with nothing if you owe them a sinlge dime. You don't need the added pressure from them. Make sure you work with them if you are coming up short with no excuses. They will work with you if you don't flake. Take personal accountability, step up and pay what you can if not more without them asking. EVERY SHIFT.
  • Never worry about being late on rent/mortgage again! or How to pay your rent - In the world of exotic dancing you would think that most dancers with all that money know how to pay their bills. I'll let you in on a little secret most HUMANS don't know how to pay their bills! So by me giving you this little stripper hack you are ahead of the game than most people who don't even work in exotic dancing.
    • Say your rent is $1000 a month. Divide that by 4. Put aside $250 a week and tell yourself by Saturday night you have to fulfill your $250 quota or whatever it is to pay your rent or mortgage ON TIME. Don't be one of those strippers that goes in the last day or two of the month thinking they are going to be able to pay their rent by the 5th. In this so-called recession that is wishful thinking. Get it taken care of so you don't have to force yourself to work when you don't want to. Let the other bitches compete for money on the 30th of the month.
Now go make some money!

Recession my ass!

Strip Club Planned for Seattle Area Pancake House

A Seattle Strip Club with pancakes? Sweet! Sticky too!

I absolutely love how the name is being kept as Cyndy's that is very smart. To keep it as Cyndy's Pancake House would be even better.

Although I am very loyal to my club I do wish Cyndy's a grand opening. There needs to be more privately owned Seattle strip clubs and less chains that want to contaminate the area with sleaze.

Thank you Bob Davis for busting the citys balls!

Strip Club Consulting

If and when you need strip club consulting please see my contact page for details.

No gentlemen's club is too big or too small for strip club consulting!

Exotic dancers looking for lap dance information and making more money in a gentlemen's club should contact me! I can help you make the best of an ailing economy from how to save your money and how to make more of it! Get ideas and help choosing a good gentlemen's club to work in and even how to save money on stripper shoes! Anything!

Experienced exotic dancers profess that working in a gentlemen's club is truly a recession proof business!

Why you should hire me:

I've been exotic dancing for a number of years all over the US and in Canada. As an observant and savvy business women I have gotten financial advice from some of the best people in the strip club industry. You could say I've been privy to information that most people in business will never have. All names and certain info are confidential so don't ask me where or from whom I've heard what.

Yes I have even helped men and women in traditional business make more money.

My personal joke is I have an MBA three times over with street smarts to back it up and I got paid a lot of money to get this education! How many people in the world can say that or have the credentials that I do? How many people know how to use it?

I have a no bullshit approach to things and want other exotic dancers (and club owners) to have all the benefits that I have in the exotic dancing world.

The best part is I love what I do! I have no shame for my choice to work as an exotic dancer and I write extensively about it as I'm always trying to keep up on the industry year round.

When the times comes for me to hang up my stripper shoes I will still be an active member of the exotic dancer community.

Let me know how I can help you hack your way to success as I've already been there and done that in the beautiful world of exotic dancing. :)
